Research

My research is focused on the magmatism process, igneous petrogenesis, petrology and geochemistry of basalt-borne xenoliths (from lower crust and lithosphere mantle), and their relationships with the earth’s crust and mantle dynamics. My recent specific interests are: (1) geochronology and geochemistry of Late Archean to Early Paleoproterozoic TTG gneisses in the southern North China Craton, and its implications for the Early Precambrian crustal accretion and the assembly of supercontinent; (2) Neoproterozoic magmatism in South China associated with break-up of the Rodinia supercontinent; (3) Petrology and geochemistry of the Mesozoic/Cenozoic igneous rocks and basalt-borne deep-seated xenoliths in the eastern China, and constraints on the geodynamics of lithospheric evolution.
